I've always said the hardest part about going to the gym is walking through the front doors... It's even harder to find that motivation when it comes to training at home!
Here are 2 tips you can try to help:
This is a really simple way of getting you to exercise. Set a timer for 5 minutes or even better choose 2 of your favourite
workout songs.
You are going to workout for the 5 mins or until your 2 songs finish.
For a simplicity choose 2 exercises you alternate between (e.g. Squats and push ups). Do 10 squats, 10 push ups and repeat as many times as you can in 5 minutes.
Once you've completed 5 minutes you can finish there and be proud that you did something (something is always better than nothing) or if you are feeling good try another 5 minutes and 2 different exercises. Repeat 2 or 3 more times, but stop whenever you feel you need too!
I find this one works the best for me. Set an alarm on your phone of when you want to exercise, whatever time works best for you. This gives you a focus and time to exercise, it's harder to find excuses.
I've been doing a live Bodyfit-online session with my clients at 6.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays which has worked really well for me and my Bodyfit-online clients, it gives us an accountability to show up and do the session!
I have found that most of my own personal training clients have gained more than enough knowledge of how to train well and effectively but still book in their regular slots every week because it gives them accountability to turn up on a regular basis and they know they can 100% focus on their training.
It doesn't matter what your exercise is, whether you enjoy walking, cycling, doing weights, completing a home HIIT session or yoga. Just go and do it!
